The SFI-PLT-MANRRS Black Faces in Green Spaces: The Journeys of Black Professionals in Green Careers is a career resource guide developed in partnership with Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS). This guide introduces youth to the many jobs in the forest and conservation sector through the lens of Black Professionals currently working in the sector. The name of the guide pays homage to the Black author, Carolyn Finney, who authored the book Black Faces, White Spaces: Reimagining the Relationship of African Americans to the Great Outdoors.

PLT’s Discover Your Urban Forest features three activities from PLT’s new Explore Your Environment: K-8 Activity Guide.

PLT’s new Explore Your Environment: K-8 Activity Guide includes 50 hands-on, multidisciplinary activities to connect children to nature and increase young people’s awareness and knowledge about their environment. Activities integrate teaching about the environment into a multitude of subjects using hands-on classroom studies and outdoor field investigations. The guide is user-friendly, and works in classrooms and nonformal settings, in urban, suburban, and rural areas.

PLT’s New Activity Collection for Grades 9-10: Forests, Water & People Project Learning Tree’s newest activity collection includes three inquiry-based lessons that examine the connections between forests and watersheds while investigating their impacts on communities. PLT and the USDA Forest Service collaborated to create a special digital activity collection – Forests, Water & People. The lessons are designed for educators to use with learners in grades 9-10, with variations for grades 6-8.
